Every action must have a starting place and a goal.
Sometimes in this fast paced world, it is hard to remember that life is not simply driving us. The seemingly impossible can be achieved but not unless we choose to embark upon a journey.
Regardless of what faith we call our own, now is the time to broaden the relationship we have with the Creator. To begin on this journey we have to take the first step.
It has often been said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Perhaps we don’t know where we will end up, but certainly we will never get anywhere if we don’t decide to head towards our goal.
Ramadan is one such journey.

Okay man, I’m with you. I’m down with it. I don’t know where this journey will lead. I just know I keep looking at my next door neighbors dog and picturing him grilled with an apple in his mouth. I am hun-gry! I have to admit though, it actually feels pretty good. It’s been a long time since I let myself go this long without eating. I don’t know if I will make it the full thirty days but I think there is a good chance I will last until sunset.

Ha ha. I’m totally with you too RW. It’s about 12 minutes until the sunset and I’ve got a watermelon that’s been chillin in the fridge and a big cold jug of water. I feel pretty good, but it was hot here in Ogden today. Must have been pushing 106 Fahrenheit. I woke up early and drank a lot of water and I’m glad I did. I’m also glad I decided to take this journey. That watermelon is going to be reward enough for me! Funny though that I sat and watched TV during the hottest part of the afternoon…it was a show about how fractal geometry has revealed that there is an underlying order to the universe. That even those things that look the most chaotic and random> I think fractals also describe the movement of leaves on trees, and the movement of ripples on water, they are what I have called the fingerprints of God for a long time. Now I’m going to go cut that watermelon and enjoy the fractals it fills in my mouth.
