There are millions of ways to increase your traffic and readership. One of the easiest and definitely one of the first you should do, is to familiarize yourself with Technorati. It’s free and after your blog is built, you should immediately register it with Technorati.
Registration is the first step in using this awesome blogging tool. You also have to familiarize yourself with how to use it the most effectively.
One aspect of Technorati that works beautifully and effectively is the tagging schemata.
Using Technorati tags isn’t hard, but it is important.
Step 1 is to create your blog.
Step 2 should be to create your Technorati account and claim your blog
Step 3 is to implement ways to make your tags work for you.
Click here for a quick example of how these tags work. In this example I will use the tag ‘money making blog’.
As you can see, Technorati is a huge directory of blogs and blog posts. It is comparable to an encyclopedia of blogs.
Tag a post with ‘money making blogs’ and it shows up here.
Why does that matter?
Well, it matters because this is a definite way to bring new visitors to your blog. If you have created a good blog (and I know you have) some of these visitors will certainly become regular readers.
There are many options when it comes to different ways to tag your posts.
For this blog, I use a wordpress widget. I use Easy Technorati Tags for WordPress. It’s a simple plugin that utilizes the native wordpress tagging system to generate and display Technorati tags. In addition, I am experimenting with Dashboard: Technorati Extended Reactions. This plugin shows you how your posts are doing on Technorati.
When I am writing posts on my laptop, I like to use the Technorati Tagger Greasemonkey Plugin. It’s an add-on that integrates well with my browser of choice Fire Fox.
The benefit of these add-ons and plug ins is that they allow you to make relevant tags for each post with ease. All you have to do is type in the tags and the software does the rest by providing the apporpriate HTML code for you. Give it a shot, let me know how it works for you.

The Easy Technorati Tags plugin is a great choice. Anything you can do to automate blogging tasks (short of using a crappy spinner to produce content) is a good thing in my book!
