			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>1. Surprise! Obama&#8217;s &#8216;Change we can believe in&#8217; is actually a nearly complete lack of change in terms of policy.</p>
<p>2. Once again, the world failed to end. Some are disappointed but most are actually happy about it.</p>
<p>3. The news media continues to use false statistics to mask the true decline of the world&#8217;s economy and manages to actually get the stock market (a false indicator if there ever was one) to creep above 10K even though unemployment is up, foreclosures are up, the cost of living is up, and wages are down.</p>
<p>4. The use of violence and warfare worldwide climbed drastically as world societies began to feel the reins of control over increasingly poor and desperate populations</p>
<p>5. More than half of the world&#8217;s population at some point suffered from hunger, inadequate shelter, a lack of clean water, or systemic violence in 2009. </p>
<p>Now&#8230;.it should be easy to improve on that record. Let&#8217;s hope we have a better 2010. </p>
